Little Missouri River - North Dakota 

I spent a night in a shepherds wagon at -12 degree temperature and awoke to 6 inches of new snow, which was still falling. I headed out to locate some wild horses that I had come to photograph. I found these two wild horses along the Little Missouri River bottoms where the were protected from the high wind and freezing temperatures where they could “weather the storm - together”.
