After locating this Great Horned Owl ( aka Tiger Owl) on a nest with two owlets I decided to attempt to photograph her at eye-level rather than the typical evaluated perches that owls generally use. I spent over three weeks patterning this owl and in that process discovered an eye-level perch that she occasionally used. Several days into my concealed “stake out” it happened. There I was, in good evening light, just 20 yards away from this magnificent owl directly at eye-level. I snapped a few pictures and she went on her way without any disruption to her behavior.
